    Description

ORIGINAL 1900-1920 Era Warbonnet.  According to research I conducted, this Warbonnet dates from just after the turn of the century's and is constructed of Turkey feathers, which makes it legal to buy, sell and possess.  According to the experts I spoke with, it was made by hand in the Niagara Falls region by a Native American, and is DEFINITELY Indian-made.  There is no way to tell what tribal affiliation the Indian had, since it is based on plains tribal headwear and was not made by a plains tribal member.  Most likely, this was worn by a Native American who would pose for photos with tourists.  This is quite a rare specimen, because it's not modern made as a "collectible" but was actually used by a Native American.  The beads themselves are valuable, and I am told they sell for or so, each.  A few of the feathers are damaged, but overall, this piece has a very nice presentation, and will display quite nicely.  Please note: there are NO feathers that would make this illegal or unethical to sell.  A RARE chance to find a genuine war bonnet that you an actually own!  Buyer to pay a flat for shipping.
