Description
This is a quite stunning pair of gothic architectural wooden walnut bellows with the carved St Marks lion, gargoyle head handles & other carvings of which:
During our research we have been informed it certainly dates from the mid 19th century

the relief carvings of the winged St Marks lion with its wonderful overall portrayal with the intricate carvings & detailing.
It has an open book with roman script.
Gothic handles with the gargoyle heads, open mouths, again with the intricate detailing.
Other carvings including the relief carvings to the rear.
Decorative gothic bronze nozzle.
The bellows have an overall size of about 19.25 x 9inches.
Max overall depth when closed of about 3.5inches.
Condition: Considering the age, the overall condition is very good and is not subject to:
any major blemishes except:
an early glue repair to the base of a handle of which with todays modern & advanced restoration techniques, can certainly be improved.
A couple of small holes to the leather, one to each side.
A few historic, treated woodworm holes.
